Mike Klassen

Anyone who knows me well knows I’m rarely brief when I write. But to keep you from falling asleep, I’ll make this short.

My first career was in radio where the last half of that career was spent in the newsroom as a news director. That’s where I took a love of writing and really put it to the test.

Following that, I began a career in computers and eventually found my way to Microsoft. My last job for them was technical writing and editing.

From there, I started Klassen Communications where my plan was to be a copywriter. But as I outline in my book, a potential client project put me on the path to direct market design.

I still write, but more for enjoyment and education. Most of my writing occurs on this blog in the form of helping other beginning direct market designers. Some of these blog articles have appeared in other blogs, newsletters, magazines, my own book, and even translated into Norwegian for a marketing website in Norway.
